Classroom Expectations
Students are expected to arrive to class ready to learn. This means students are prepared with not only their school supplies, but a positive mindset. Group work is a key component to effective math instruction and it is necessary to create a calm, safe environment where students feel comfortable to take risks. This means students are encouraged to work cooperatively with their peers and all students are held accountable not only for the quality of their individual work, but their ability to work cohesively as a member of a team. The expectation is for all students to take responsibility for their own learning and begin to grow into critical thinkers prepared for college and the work force.
